More Ways to Donate

Consider GNRHS as part of your estate planning. Not all of us have worthy heirs, and by donating funds through your estate, you may enjoy the knowledge that your economic life’s work will go to a good cause.

In addition, two tax advantaged gift plans available to you are gifts of appreciated stock, and gifts from your IRA accounts. By donating appreciated stock, you avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation. If you are over 70 ½ years old, by donating from your IRA account, you are donating pretax dollars, rather than taking a taxable distribution, and the donation counts toward your required minimum distribution. Talk with your tax advisor for details of these processes, and then please contact our Treasurer.

On behalf of the GNRHS, Thank You for your membership and helping us keep the spirit of the Great Northern Railway alive.
