2016 Spokane Convention
2016 Spokane Convention

Due to the overwhelming interest in the Monday ‘Tracing the GN in Spokane’ tour we have explored the possibility of adding an extra bus. We do have an extra bus on hold but need more people to sign up to make it feasible.

If you haven’t registered yet and want to come to the Spokane Convention please register now. If you have already registered but not selected the Monday ‘Tracing the GN in Spokane’ tour and still want to take this tour please access the online registration form again. Enter your name and the names of those going on the tour with you, select the tour and choose ‘Add-on’ for the registration fee to prevent being charged the fee again. Then add to cart and go to checkout as usual.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Spokane!

GNRHS Booth at SPUD Train Days 2016

GNRHS membership volunteers were present with a booth at the St. Paul Union Depot Train Days held April 30th – May 1st. They signed up several new members and had lots of visiting with GNRHS members who shared memories of the GN days at SPUD.

GNRHS Director Gary Nelson gave an excellent talk sharing his memories working for the Great Northern.

Outside exhibits this year featured Minnesota Transportation Museum’s ex Great Northern SDP40 #325, as well as Milwaukee 4-8-4 #261 and Lake Superior Railroad Museum’s Soo FP7A  #2500. Amtrak was present with its Exhibit Train showing the past, present and future of passenger railroading.
