PASSENGER TRAIN CARS - In Streamliners

All cars in streamliners have roof and ends in green, under-frame and trucks black, sides alternate stripes of orange, green and yellow, silver stripe along bottom of car sides. Lettering and numbers in yellow. Forward end only of first car behind locomotive has same color striping as car sides. In Empire Builder, car sides have the train name with "Great Northern" in smaller letters near car ends. In all other streamliners, car sides carry "Great Northern" rather than train name. Diners, coffee shop, sleeping and observation-lounge cars in all streamliners have names and numbers. "Pullman" appears near open vestibule end of sides on cars having sleeping accommodations.

CONVENTIONAL-TYPE CARS

Most of these have same color scheme as given for streamliners other than Empire Builder. Those not so colored have green roof, ends, sides, underframe and trucks, lettering and numbers in yellow. All bear "Great Northern" on the sides.
