For Sale:  The Skykomish Historical Society has completed a new photo history CD titled:  Electric Locomotives of the Great Northern Railway.  The CD contains over 125 photos of locomotives, station plots showing substation locations, High Cars for servicing the lines, views of substations and substation buildings and photos of the Tumwater Canyon dam and power plant.  A complete copy of the 112 page, Instructions for Operation and Maintenance of Electric Motive Power is included as published in 1947.  All images are .jpg files.  These CD's are sold for personal use only and reproduction requires permission.  The CD's sell for US $22.50 each, postage paid in the USA.  International Postage is by arrangement.  Contact the Skykomish Historical Society, PO Box 247, Skykomish, WA  98288 or by email at mvmmvm@comcast.net

Historical Information Wanted: 

Wanted:  Help in locating photos of the Western Fruit Express shops at Hillyard (Spokane), WA and any pertinent information for the purpose on inclusion in a reference sheet on the WFE Shops.  The WFE Shops at Hillyard were built in 1924 and a photo and article may well have been published in a Spokane or Hillyard newspaper.  Tyrone Johnsen, 2929 Panorama Drive, Rockford, IL  61109, (815) 397-9274, or tyrone.johnsen@hotmail.com

Wanted:  Reference photos (or full size 8 x 10 scans) of non-F3B GN heater cars (GN 1-9) to complete a GNRHS reference sheet.  Especially desired are roster-type photos of the 1946-rebuilt GN1 or GN2 as they appeared in the 1950s with full "Empire Builder" lettering, and of GN5 with EB-style "Great Northern" lettering from the same period.  Photos of the other cars or other paint schemes are also gladly accepted.  I can scan photos or slides and return them to you.  If known, please include date, location and photographer.  contact Donald L.
