The 2004 GNRHS convention was held July 11-14 in Spokane, Washington at the Ridpath Hotel.  For additional day-by-day photos and accompanying text, click the buttons to the left.  The agenda was as follows:

Sunday, July 11

0830 - 1200 - Board of Directors' meeting

1100 - 1400 - Set up for Rail Fair, Model Contest, Casey Adams Photo Contest

1230 - 1800 - Registration

1400 - 2100 - Rail Fair, Model Contest, Casey Adams Photo Contest

Monday, July 12

0800 - 11:00 - Rail Fair

1100 - 1300 - Lunch on your own

1300 - 1400 - Welcome to the GNRHS Convention

1400 - 1500 - Mr. Robert Downing on Spokane, WA

1500 - 1600 - Mr. Marv Franz on Hillyard

1600 - 1700 - Mr. Noel Holley on GN Electrification

1700 - 1930 - Dinner on your own

1930 - 2000 - Business Meeting

2030 - 2130 - Modeling Clinics by Mr. Duane Buck

Tuesday, July 13

0800 - 1130 - Load buses and travel to BNSF Yardley for remote-control locomotive viewing, tour of ex-NP/GN passenger car collection, turntable, roundhouse and yard office.

1200 - 1300 - Load buses and travel to Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture for box lunch.

1300 - 1400 - BNSF presentation on Hauser fueling station.

1400 - 1600 - Slide show and video presentation.  Also digital picture display (laptop/overhead) of Model and Photo Contest entries and winners.

1600 - 1730 - Return to Ridpath hotel for dinner on your own.

1730 - 2230 - Visit to four area model railroad layouts (Roy Wyatt, David Wyria, Dwight Petty and Spokane's River City Modelers.

1930 - 2030 - Rocky's Rails presentations.

2030 - 2330 - Duane Buck Modeling Clinics.

Wednesday, July 14

0800 - 0830 - Buses load for trip to former site of Hillyard.

0830 - 0930 - Tour of Hillyard and X-176 caboose.

0930 - 1000 - Buses over to BNSF Hauser Fueling Station.

1000 - 1200 - Four buses take separate tours of the fueling station: bus tour of the general area; tank car unloading station, mainline fueling station and tank farm.

1200 - 1230 - Buses over to Spokane Fairgrounds for Longhorn Barbecue lunch and tour of railroad equipment on display including X-237 caboose.

1230 - 1400 - Lunch and buses begin to return to Ridpath hotel.

1700 - 1800 - Social Hour

1800 - 1900 - Banquet at the Ridpath.

1900 - 1930 - Banquet speaker, Mr. Henry Ewert on "GN's Third Mainline".

1930 - 2030 - Door prizes awarded and Empire Builder award presented to President Jim Larson.
